Dear Hit Doctor,
I have a problem hitting the ball off the handle against faster pitching and pulling a lot of balls foul against slower pitchers. Can the Hit Doctor please help?
Thanks,
T.H.

Dear T.H.,
Don't despair. Getting jammed and pulling the ball foul are two symptons of a common problem resulting from a long, round swing. Your swing allows you to get around on the slower pitchers, but the harder throwers "get in" on your hands. The object is to shorten your swing by attempting to "stay inside of the ball". You need to refer to Drills to Correct a long swing in the Drills Index and study the tips and "Coaching Cues". Select "double tee, inside-out " and work on this drill daily until you can stay inside the ball.
